Direct-Replacement Twin Turbocharger Set for 2010-2019 Lincoln MKT (D4)
What it Does: The replacement turbocharger set restores factory manifold pressure and throttle response on the 2010-2019 Lincoln MKT by replacing worn, leaking factory turbochargers and eliminating P0299 underboost conditions.
The Stock Lincoln MKT Turbocharger Failure Points
On the transverse 3.5L EcoBoost V6, extreme underhood thermal cycling causes degraded oil breakdown in the center housing rotating assembly (CHRA). Over time, carbon buildup restricts the oil feed lines, starving the journal bearings. This thermal stress induces axial and radial shaft play, compromising the dynamic piston-ring oil seals and allowing blow-by into the intercooler. Concurrently, factory internal wastegate pivot bushings wear loose, leaking exhaust energy past the turbine wheel and throwing DTC P0299 under high load.
The Engineering Solution
Engineered as a matched direct-fit pair, these GT1549SL style turbochargers feature balanced rotating assemblies to eliminate high-RPM vibration and seal chatter. Both driver-side (LH) and passenger-side (RH) units integrate dual water- and oil-cooled cast center housings to prevent oil coking after engine shutdown. Calibrated pneumatic internal wastegate actuators ensure precise boost control, while OEM-matched exhaust flange dimensions and clocking are designed to ensure seamless integration with factory downpipes, oil lines, and charge plumbing.
