Furthermore, the factory steel pulleys are prone to heat soak under spirited driving, which can affect belt tension and overall parasitic efficiency. This conservative drive ratio prevents the engine from utilizing its full volumetric efficiency, particularly in the mid-range where these luxury-performance chassis need it most.

The Engineering Solution

Our performance pulley is CNC-machined from high-grade alloy steel and finished with a black powder coating to mirror Eaton’s OEM standards for thermal resilience and belt traction. By reducing the diameter by 10%, we achieve a 12% increase in supercharger output, translating directly to improved manifold pressure. This modification addresses the airflow ceiling of the AJ34S engine, providing an immediate 25-35 horsepower increase. Because the tolerance between the pulley and the blower housing is extremely tight on the 4.2L models, snout machining is required for installation to ensure adequate clearance for the smaller diameter.
