Will this stop the "jerky" shifting?
It helps significantly. The "jerk" is caused by the engine cutting power while the automated manual changes gears. By increasing the torque availability immediately before and after the shift, the transition feels much more seamless.

I tow my Smart behind an RV. Do I need to remove it?
No. You can leave the chip plugged in while flat-towing. It won't drain your battery or affect the towing process. It will be ready to drive as soon as you unhook.

Does it work on the Brabus edition?
Yes! The Brabus models have slightly different factory tuning, but they still suffer from lag. The Stage 3 chip stacks on top of the Brabus tune to maximize boost and make it a true "pocket rocket."

Is installation hard?
It is the easiest installation of any car. The OBDII port on the Smart (451/453) is typically located in the driver's footwell, sometimes behind a small storage pocket that swings down. Just plug it in!
