The Stock Mark VIII Cooling Weakness

The factory FN10 cooling system utilizes composite plastic end-tanks crimped onto a thin single-row core. Over repeated thermal cycles, the OEM plastic embrittles, resulting in hairline fractures at the inlet/outlet necks and catastrophic crimp seam separation. Additionally, the high-revving 32-valve 4.6L Modular V8 generates substantial underhood thermal energy that easily overwhelms the stock single-row core during spirited driving or high ambient temperatures, leading to transmission fluid overheating.

The Engineering Solution

Constructed entirely from aircraft-grade aluminum with precision TIG welds, this performance unit eliminates plastic-to-metal failure points. The 3-row racing tube core measures 22-7/16 in. W x 18-3/8 in. H, maximizing fluid volume and heat dissipation surface area. Each unit is 100% leak-tested and features an integrated internal transmission oil cooler and factory-spec 1-1/2 in. inlet and outlet ports for a direct bolt-on installation into the factory core support.
