The Stock G35 Cooling Shortcoming

The OEM V35 chassis radiator utilizes plastic end tanks crimped to an aluminum core, a notoriously weak design prone to stress fractures and catastrophic coolant leaks over time. As the VQ35DE engine goes through thousands of thermal cycles, the plastic becomes brittle, eventually splitting at the seams or the upper inlet neck. For heavily driven or modified G35s, this standard configuration also lacks the fluid capacity necessary to combat heat soak, leading to elevated operating temperatures during aggressive driving, track days, or extended idling in hot climates.

The Engineering Solution

This performance radiator resolves the factory weakness by utilizing an all-aluminum construction with fully TIG-welded end tanks, completely eliminating the failure-prone plastic components and rubber gaskets. Featuring an expanded 28.70" x 16.50" x 1.40" core, this unit significantly increases coolant capacity and surface area for superior thermal exchange. The high-density aluminum fins optimize airflow dynamics across the core, rapidly dissipating heat to maintain stable engine temperatures. Both the 1.38-inch inlet and outlet are precision-machined for a leak-free hose fitment, and the inclusion of a high-pressure radiator cap raises the coolant boiling point for added safety under heavy loads. It bolts directly into the factory mounting points without modification.
