The Stock Charger Thermal Weakness

OEM LX and LD chassis radiators utilize single-row aluminum cores crimped to plastic end tanks. Over time, thermal cycling and pressure spikes cause these plastic tanks to fatigue, crack, and leak at the crimp seams. Furthermore, the standard cooling configuration suffers from heat soak during high-load conditions, especially in 5.7L HEMI engines. This elevates coolant temperatures, forcing the ECU to pull ignition timing to prevent detonation and power loss.

The Engineering Solution

This radiator eliminates plastic failure points using TIG-welded, 2mm-thick AA5052 aircraft-grade aluminum for both the core and end tanks. The 3-row racing spec configuration spaces cooling rows just 3/8" apart, yielding a 25% increase in core row density. Paired with a dense 14-16 fins-per-inch count, it expands the heat dissipation surface area by roughly 1,500 fins over OEM. The advanced brazed core design delivers a 30% to 45% increase in thermal efficiency and expands total coolant capacity to buffer temperature surges. An OEM-style brass petcock drain replaces fragile plastic plugs to ensure long-term serviceability.
