The Stock Integra Thermal Weakness

The factory radiator on the third-generation Integra features plastic end tanks crimped to an ultra-thin, single-row aluminum core. Over decades of heat cycling, the OEM plastic becomes brittle, leading to micro-cracks and inevitable coolant blowouts at the seams. Furthermore, the stock unit lacks the fluid capacity and fin density required to shed heat effectively when the B18 engine is subjected to sustained high RPMs, VTEC crossover heat loads, or forced induction. This thermal bottleneck induces severe heat soak, causing the ECU to pull timing and rob power to protect the block during track sessions or spirited driving.

The Engineering Solution

ASI Performance resolves these thermal limitations with a true 3-row core design utilizing premium AA5052 aircraft-grade aluminum. Unlike cheaper T-3303 alloys prone to corrosion and flexing, the magnesium-infused AA5052 offers superior tensile strength and cold workability. The fully brazed core employs heavy-duty 2mm thick tanks with high-density cooling rows spaced precisely 3/8" apart. Featuring 14-16 fins per inch, this radiator delivers approximately 1500 more fins than standard aftermarket options, expanding the thermal dissipation surface area exponentially. This translates to a 30%-45% increase in cooling efficiency and vastly expanded coolant volume. The unit is finished with a CNC-machined billet aluminum filler neck, an ergonomic anodized cap, and a durable brass OEM-style petcock drain to eliminate plastic failure points entirely.
