The Problem: The factory airbox on the early MK5 EA113 FSI is notoriously restrictive because it’s actually built into the plastic engine cover. This design creates a convoluted airflow path and traps heat right on top of the cylinder head, leading to high intake air temperatures (IATs). This “heat soak” causes the ECU to pull timing, which kills your top-end power and makes the turbo work twice as hard to move the same amount of air.

The Solution: We engineered this kit to bypass the restrictive factory engine cover entirely. By utilizing a mandrel-bent aluminum intake pipe and a high-velocity dry cone filter, we provide a direct, cool path for the K03 turbocharger. This setup corrects the factory design flaws of the EA113 FSI, delivering reliable performance and a much more aggressive engine note under boost.
