The mass airflow sensor (MAF) connector can be tricky to release. Ensure you fully depress the small tab on the connector before attempting to pull it apart to avoid damaging the plastic retaining clip. Never force it.
Phase 1: Factory Component Removal
- Disconnect the negative terminal of your vehicle’s battery using a 10mm wrench. This is a critical safety step to prevent electrical shorts.
- Disconnect the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) electrical connector and carefully unclip the wiring harness from the airbox.
- Loosen the hose clamp securing the intake tube to the throttle body using a flathead screwdriver or appropriate socket.
