First purchase was for a e-250 with 5.4. made a noticable difference almost immediately. Gas improved but can't say by how much, as I don't figure it out . Second chip was for 98 grand Marquis. Haven't driven it much since install, but out on the but out on the highway when I kick it down into passing gear it definitely is faster and you can hear a difference in motor sound.

I have a 2009 Mercury Mountaineer 4.0L with over 113,000 miles. She runs well and is serviced regularly. I only drive2,000 to 3,000 miles a year so short trip gas mileage is a killer. Six months ago, I noticed she (we) was showing her age. Gas mileage was down to 14.5 per/gal and acceleration was a tad sluggish. A “tune-up” would be about $500.00+ or I could do it myself but these old hands and eyes have seen better days. After doing some research, I decided to take a chance on the Performance Chip Tuning modal. Turned out to be a good move for the price. After six months of “break-in”, she gets 19.0 miles per/gal and is very responsive to acceleration. She seems to shift (automatic) smoother and the RPMs are about 750 to 1000 lower at a comparable speed. This is most noticeable between 45 & 60 MPH. Can not say if it will work for any other vehicle but for me, it was well worth the investment.
