Ignition Coil & Iridium Spark Plugs for Dodge Journey (2011-2019) 3.6L

High-Output Ignition Coil & Iridium Spark Plugs for 2011-2019 Dodge Journey (3.6L Pentastar / JC)

Replaces degrading factory ignition components to restore optimal combustion, eliminate misfires, and stabilize idle in high-mileage 3.6L Pentastar engines.

The Stock Journey Ignition Weakness

The factory ignition coils and standard spark plugs on the 3.6L Pentastar V6 are notorious for thermal degradation over time. Located beneath the upper intake plenum, the rear bank of cylinders experiences severe heat soak, which gradually breaks down the internal epoxy potting of the OEM ignition coils. This critical insulation failure leads to microscopic voltage leaks, causing intermittent misfires under load, hesitation during acceleration, and an increasingly rough idle. Furthermore, standard OEM spark plugs suffer from rapid electrode erosion after 60,000 miles, widening the spark gap and demanding higher voltage from an already stressed and degrading ignition coil system.

The Engineering Solution

This ignition coil and iridium spark plug kit is engineered to exceed factory tolerances and withstand the extreme thermal cycles inherent to the JC chassis engine bay. The upgraded ignition coils feature high-temperature silicone boots and advanced internal copper windings coated in a highly durable, heat-resistant dielectric epoxy. This prevents voltage bleed and ensures a consistent, high-energy spark transfer even under sustained load. Paired with iridium-tipped spark plugs, the system benefits from a laser-welded fine wire center electrode. Iridium's exceptionally high melting point completely mitigates rapid gap erosion, ensuring precise spark timing, thorough combustion of the air-fuel mixture, restored fuel economy, and reliable performance without throwing a Check Engine Light (CEL).
