Ignition Coil & Iridium Spark Plugs for Chevrolet HHR (2006-2011) 2.2L 2.4L I4

High-Output Ignition Coil & Iridium Spark Plugs for 2006-2011 Chevrolet HHR (Ecotec / Delta Platform)

What it Does: Replaces degraded factory coils and standard spark plugs to restore proper secondary voltage output, completely eliminating intermittent misfires and rough idling under load.

The Stock HHR Ignition Weakness

The GM Ecotec 2.2L and 2.4L engines are highly susceptible to ignition coil pack deterioration caused by continuous thermal cycling. Prolonged exposure to high engine bay temperatures causes the internal epoxy potting compound to dry out and fracture. These microscopic cracks in the coil housing allow secondary voltage to arc to the cylinder head rather than the spark plug, leading to hard starts, hesitation, unburned fuel entering the exhaust, and a highly restrictive power band.

The Engineering Solution

This direct-replacement ignition kit utilizes upgraded coils and performance iridium spark plugs to perfectly stabilize the ignition event. The re-engineered coils feature premium high-conductivity copper windings and an advanced high-dielectric epoxy matrix that heavily resists thermal breakdown and electrical arcing. Furthermore, the paired iridium-tipped spark plugs require significantly less secondary voltage to ionize the spark gap while maintaining strict gap tolerances over thousands of miles. By optimizing the spark duration and intensity, this system ensures complete air-fuel combustion, restoring throttle response, maximizing fuel efficiency, and safely recovering lost engine torque.

Common Questions

Will this fit my 2009 HHR 2.4L?
Yes. It fits the 2006-2011 Chevy HHR 2.4L and the 2007-2011 HHR 2.2L Ecotec.

Will it help fuel economy?
Yes. Complete combustion restores throttle response and maximizes fuel efficiency.

Does it fit the HHR SS 2.0L turbo?
This kit is made for the 2.2L and 2.4L Ecotec engines.

What problems does it fix?
Misfires, rough idle and hesitation from worn coils and plugs.

Why iridium plugs?
The fine iridium center electrode needs less voltage to fire and wears much slower than a standard plug.
