The Stock MKS Ignition Breakdown

The transverse mounting of the Duratec 37 in the D3 chassis exposes rear bank ignition coils to severe engine bay heat soak. Over thermal cycles, factory primary and secondary coil windings suffer dielectric breakdown, while OEM epoxy potting develops micro-fractures. This thermal degradation induces internal arcing, erratic spark energy delivery, carbon tracking along spark plug ceramic insulators, and intermittent misfires (DTC P0300-P0306) under load.

The Engineering Solution

This ignition service pack features six heavy-duty ignition coils paired with six fine-wire iridium spark plugs. The coil assemblies are engineered with high-grade internal copper windings, durable thermoplastic housings, and reinforced potting material to resist heat-induced insulation breakdown.
