High Output Alternator for Chevrolet Traverse (2009-2016) 3.6L

High-Amp 350A Alternator for 2009-2016 Chevrolet Traverse Lambda

What it Does: The 350-amp high output alternator replaces the factory charging unit on the 2009-2016 Traverse to supply stable electrical current and prevent voltage drop under heavy auxiliary loads.

The Stock Chevrolet Traverse Electrical Limitations

The factory 160-amp alternator on the GM Lambda platform was engineered strictly for baseline vehicle electronics. When running aftermarket additions—such as high-RMS audio amplifiers, inverter setups, auxiliary lighting, or heavy rear-seat entertainment loads—the stock unit suffers severe thermal throttling and rotor saturation. Under sustained amperage demand, this shortfall triggers pronounced voltage sag below 12.6V at idle, resulting in flickering headlights, erratic CAN-bus module behavior, and chronic battery undercharging that accelerates lead-acid degradation.

The Engineering Solution

Engineered as a direct bolt-on upgrade, this 350-amp alternator utilizes precision heavy-gauge copper hairpin stator windings and oversized avalanche diode rectifiers to maximize heat dissipation and efficiency. Designed specifically for the GM High Feature LLT 3.6L V6, it features internal heavy-duty bearings and optimized rotor-stator air gaps to generate high current output even at curb idle speeds. Retaining the factory hairpin mounting pattern, OEM-spec dual-lug housing, and factory harness plug, it installs without bracket modifications while keeping bus voltage locked at 14.2V–14.7V under full accessory load.

Frequently Asked Questions & Fitment Warnings

Does this fit the Lambda Traverse?

Yes, this is a direct fit for the 2009-2016 Chevrolet Traverse equipped with the LLT 3.6L V6 engine.

Do I need to upgrade my charging cables?

Executing a Big 3 wiring upgrade with 1/0 AWG power and ground cables is strongly recommended to safely carry the full 350-amp load without thermal line loss.
