High Output Alternator for Acura ILX (2016-2022) 2.4L

High-Output 135A Replacement Alternator for 2016-2022 Acura ILX (DE2)

What it Does: The 135A High-Output Alternator replaces the worn factory charging unit on the 2016-2022 Acura ILX to stabilize voltage rail supply and sustain heavy electrical loads across all engine speeds.

The Stock Acura ILX Charging System Weakness

The factory charging system on the DE2 platform faces intense thermal cycling and mechanical fatigue due to the high-revving nature of the K24V7 engine. Continuous operation near the 6,800 RPM redline exposes the stock alternator's internal rectifiers, brush sets, and slip rings to excessive vibration and heat soak. Over time, internal diode failure causes erratic voltage drops, leading to battery discharge, intermittent electric power steering (EPS) fade, dimming headlights under accessory load, and spurious electronic control unit (ECU) low-voltage codes.

The Engineering Solution

This 100% newly manufactured 135-amp unit resolves factory electrical bottlenecks through upgraded internal components. Built with high-grade copper windings and an integrated internal regulator (IR), it ensures clean, ripple-free 12V current delivery across the entire RPM band. The die-cast aluminum housing optimizes passive heat dissipation, while the integrated internal fan (IF) draws continuous airflow directly through the rotor and stator assembly. A precision-machined 7-groove serpentine pulley ensures OE-spec belt tension alignment, matching factory clockwise rotation without requiring wiring harness alterations.
