What it Does: Replaces the restrictive and failure-prone factory plastic intake manifold with a heavy-duty cast aluminum two-piece unit to increase airflow, reduce EGTs, and eliminate the risk of plenum cracking under high boost.

The Stock F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 Plastic Manifold Weakness

The OEM intake manifold on the 2011-2014 Ford 6.7L PowerStroke is constructed from a composite plastic that is inherently susceptible to thermal fatigue. Over time, the repeated heat cycles of the diesel engine, combined with high-boost pressures from the turbocharger, cause the plastic to become brittle and eventually crack, leading to significant boost leaks and power loss. Furthermore, the factory design prioritizes ease of manufacturing over laminar flow. The internal geometry features restrictive transitions and rough surfaces that create air turbulence, which increases intake air temperatures and forces the turbocharger to work harder to maintain target manifold absolute pressure (MAP), ultimately hindering volumetric efficiency and throttle response.
