Cold Air Intake System with Heat Shield - Infiniti G37 3.7L (2008-2013)
Rediscover the VQ37's legendary performance character. This cold air intake system with integrated heat shield delivers up to 10% more power, sharper throttle response, and the aggressive intake growl that matches your G37's sport sedan personality.
Built for Nissan's Performance Icon
The Infiniti G37 represents the perfect fusion of luxury refinement and genuine sports sedan performance. Its legendary VQ37VHR 3.7L V6—celebrated for its smooth power delivery, high-revving character, and distinctive exhaust note—has earned a devoted following among driving enthusiasts. But the factory intake system holds back that performance, using restrictive components designed for maximum silence rather than breathing capacity.
This cold air intake system transforms your G37's character. Engineered specifically for the 3.7L V6, it replaces the cramped factory airbox with a free-flowing system featuring an integrated heat shield that isolates intake air from engine bay temperatures. The result? Cooler, denser air feeding your engine for up to 10% gains in horsepower and torque, noticeably sharper throttle response, and that aggressive VQ intake sound enthusiasts crave.
Premium Engineering Meets Track-Proven Performance
- Up to 10% Power Increase - Unlock hidden horsepower and torque for stronger acceleration and more spirited driving
- Integrated Heat Shield - Isolates intake air from engine bay heat to maintain consistently cool, dense airflow for optimal performance
- Enhanced Throttle Response - Experience immediate power delivery the moment you touch the accelerator pedal
- Improved Acceleration - Feel stronger mid-range punch for passing power and on-ramp merging
- Aggressive VQ Sound - Deep, sporty intake tone that complements the G37's legendary exhaust note
- T304 Aluminum Construction - Lightweight, corrosion-resistant piping provides thermal resistance and long-term durability
- High-Flow Filtration - Superior airflow without sacrificing engine protection from harmful contaminants
- Low Maintenance Design - Washable, reusable filter requires service only every 50,000 miles under normal conditions
Heat Shield Technology for Consistent Performance
Engine bay temperatures can rob your VQ37 of precious horsepower by reducing air density. This cold air intake system solves that problem with an integrated heat shield that creates a thermal barrier between hot engine components and your intake air. The result is consistently cooler intake temperatures that translate directly to more power, better efficiency, and improved throttle response—especially during spirited driving or hot weather conditions.
The T304 aluminum intake piping eliminates restrictive bends found in factory tubing while resisting heat transfer and corrosion. Combined with the high-flow air filter, this system delivers maximum airflow while maintaining proper sensor placement for smooth, reliable engine operation.
Simple Bolt-On Installation
Transform your G37 in under 60 minutes using basic hand tools. This complete system includes T304 aluminum intake pipe, integrated heat shield, high-flow washable air filter, plus all necessary mounting hardware and clamps. Direct replacement for your factory airbox and intake tube—no cutting or permanent modifications required.
Installation Tip: After completing installation, briefly disconnect your battery to allow the ECU to adapt to the increased airflow and optimize performance parameters. Always ensure the engine is completely cool before beginning work.
Why Upgrade Your G37's Intake System?
Beyond the measurable power gains, this cold air intake delivers benefits you'll appreciate every time you drive: crisper throttle response for more engaging acceleration, a deeper intake tone that announces your presence, a cleaner engine bay appearance, and reduced long-term costs with a reusable filter that eliminates constant replacements.

Installation & Tools
Installation & Tools
The Wrench Time
- Estimated Time: 60-90 Minutes
- Difficulty: 3/10 - The VQ37VHR engine utilizes a dual intake system. It is essentially doing the same job twice, requiring careful handling of two separate MAF sensors and multiple brittle plastic clips.
Tools You Will Need
- 10mm socket, extension, and ratchet
- 10mm wrench (for battery terminals)
- 8mm socket or flathead screwdriver (for hose clamps)
- #2 Philips screwdriver (for factory MAF screws)
- Panel popper tool (critical for the factory radiator core support cover)
- Pliers (for factory PCV spring clamps)
- 4mm Allen wrench (for aftermarket MAF hardware)
The 2008-2013 Infiniti G37 community knows two things very well: the factory radiator cover clips will snap if you look at them wrong, and the factory PCV hoses bake onto the intake tubes. Use a proper panel popper for the clips, not a flathead. For the PCV hoses, use pliers to pinch the clamp, then gently twist the hose back and forth to break the seal before pulling. If you just yank it, you will tear the hose. Furthermore, you have TWO Mass Airflow (MAF) sensors. Never touch the exposed wire inside the sensor, and do not mix up the driver and passenger side units.
Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part
- Disconnect the Battery: Always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal using a 10mm wrench. The 2008-2013 Infiniti G37 3.7L ECU is highly sensitive; failing to kill the power will trigger a Check Engine Light when you unplug the MAF sensors.
- Remove the Core Support Cover: Use your 10mm socket to remove the bolts securing the engine cover. Then, use your panel popper tool to carefully extract the plastic push-clips holding the factory radiator shroud/core support cover. Set the cover aside.
- Disconnect the Dual MAF Sensors: Unclip the wiring harnesses from both the driver and passenger side MAF sensors. Use a #2 Philips screwdriver to remove the two screws holding each sensor. Gently pull the sensors straight up and place them in a clean, safe location.
- Detach the PCV Hoses: Locate the factory PCV breather hoses connected to both intake tubes. Use pliers to squeeze the spring clamps, slide them down the hose, and twist the hoses off the plastic nipples.
- Extract the Factory Airboxes: Use an 8mm socket to loosen the hose clamps securing the corrugated rubber tubes to the twin throttle bodies. Use a 10mm socket to remove the single mounting bolt securing each lower airbox to the chassis. Lift both entire factory intake assemblies out of the engine bay.
Phase 2: Installing the Cold Air Intake for Infiniti G37 (2008-2013) 3.7L Engine - Blue
- Prep the Throttle Bodies: Wipe the lip of both throttle bodies clean with a rag. Slide the new silicone couplers onto the throttle bodies and secure the inner hose clamps using your 8mm socket. Leave the outer clamps loose for the new tubes.
- Transfer the MAF Sensors: Very carefully insert your factory MAF sensors into the machined brackets on your new blue intake tubes. Secure them using the provided aftermarket hardware and a 4mm Allen wrench. Do not overtighten; snug is enough to seat the O-ring.
- Install the New Intake Tubes: Slide the new blue aluminum tubes into the silicone couplers at the throttle bodies. Line up the mounting brackets on the tubes with the factory airbox mounting holes. Secure the brackets using your 10mm socket and the factory bolts. Tighten the remaining hose clamps at the throttle body with an 8mm socket.
- Mount the Filters and PCV Hoses: Slide the high-flow air filters onto the ends of the blue tubes and lock them down using an 8mm socket. Push the factory PCV breather hoses onto the aluminum nipples on the new tubes and slide the factory spring clamps back into place with your pliers.
- Reconnect and Reassemble: Plug the wiring harnesses back into both MAF sensors until you hear an audible click. Reinstall the radiator core support cover using your plastic push-clips. Finally, reconnect the negative battery terminal with your 10mm wrench.
- The ECU Relearn Protocol: Start the engine, but DO NOT touch the gas pedal for at least 20 seconds. Let the vehicle idle so the ECU can adapt to the massive increase in airflow from the new dual intakes without throwing a lean code.
