When removing the factory BPV (Bypass Valve) recirculation hose and PCV lines from the stock intake tube, DO NOT just yank them. You will tear the aged rubber or snap the factory plastic turbo inlet flange. Use a pick tool to gently break the rubber seal from the inside before pulling. While the BK1 2.0T uses a MAP sensor (Speed Density) rather than an inline MAF, any tear in these vacuum/BPV lines during transfer will cause severe vacuum leaks, erratic idling, and false lean codes. Handle them delicately.

Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part from your 2010-2012 Genesis Hyundai Genesis Coupe Genesis 2.0L

  1. Disconnect the Battery: Always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal using a 10mm wrench to prevent check engine lights and clear the ECU memory.

  5. Mount the Filter and Finalize: Slide the blue conical air filter onto the end of the intake pipe inside the heat shield compartment. Tighten the filter clamp using your 5/16" nut driver.
