Ever feel like your Silverado’s 6.0L V8 is holding back? Unlock its true potential and experience instant, exhilarating throttle response that transforms your daily drive or heavy haul.

Performance Cold Air Intake Kit for Chevrolet Silverado 3500 (6.0L V8)

Your factory air box and restrictive paper filter choke the powerful 6.0L V8 in your Chevrolet Silverado 3500. This design limits airflow, causing the engine to work harder, reducing available horsepower and torque, and hindering throttle response, especially under load or when accelerating.

Our Cold Air Intake Kit is engineered to eliminate these bottlenecks. By replacing the entire stock intake system with a wider, T304 lightweight aluminum pipe and a high-flow, washable air filter, this upgrade delivers a direct, unimpeded path for cooler, denser air to reach your engine, maximizing combustion efficiency.

Why You Need This Upgrade

  • Unlock Hidden Power: Experience a noticeable increase in horsepower and torque, improving acceleration and towing capability.
  • Sharper Throttle Response: Eliminate lag and enjoy immediate power delivery when you hit the gas, making your Silverado feel more agile.
  • Aggressive Engine Note: Maximize airflow through the stock manifold system, providing a deep, sporty growl that announces your truck’s presence.
  • Superior Filtration & Longevity: Our high-performance, washable air filter offers exceptional filtration while flowing significantly more air, requiring cleaning only every 50,000 miles under normal conditions.
  • Easy & Non-Intrusive Upgrade: Designed for straightforward installation in under 60 minutes with basic hand tools, and engineered not to void your vehicle’s warranty.

Installation & Tools

The Wrench Time

  • Estimated Time: 60-90 Minutes
  • Difficulty: 2/10 - Beginner friendly, basic hand tools needed.

Tools You Will Need

  • 10mm Socket & Ratchet (Essential for battery and airbox mounting tray)
  • 8mm Socket or Nut Driver (For hose clamps and engine cover bolt)
  • Flathead Screwdriver (Alternative for hose clamps and prying clips)
  • T20 Torx Bit (REQUIRED to remove the MAF sensor from the factory housing)
  • Extension Bar (To reach lower mounting bolts)
Mechanic’s Pro Tip (The "Gotcha"):
The 6.0L Vortec Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is highly sensitive and directional. When transferring it to the new tube, look closely for the "FLOW" arrow printed on the sensor housing. This arrow MUST point towards the engine (throttle body). If you install it backward, your Silverado will idle roughly and throw a Check Engine Light immediately.

Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part

  1. Disconnect the Battery: Locate the negative battery terminal and use a 10mm socket or 8mm wrench to disconnect it. This resets the ECU fuel trims for the new airflow.
  2. Remove Engine Cover: Use an 8mm socket to remove the single bolt holding the "Vortec 6000" engine cover, then lift the cover off to expose the throttle body.
  3. Disconnect Sensor & Hoses: Unplug the electrical harness from the MAF sensor. Detach the coolant hose clip attached to the bottom of the intake tube using a flathead screwdriver or panel tool.
  4. Remove Stock Intake Tube: Loosen the hose clamps at the throttle body and the airbox using a flathead screwdriver or 8mm nut driver. Pull the tube free.
  5. Remove Airbox: Firmly pull the factory airbox straight up to unseat it from the grommets. If removing the mounting tray, use a 10mm socket to unbolt it from the fender well.

Phase 2: Installing the Upgrade

  1. Transfer the MAF Sensor: Use a T20 Torx bit to remove the two screws holding the MAF sensor in the stock housing. Carefully slide it into the adapter on the new intake tube, ensuring the arrow points toward the throttle body side. Secure it with the provided hardware. Do not overtighten!
  2. Install Heat Shield: Assemble the metal heat shield and weather stripping. seat it into the truck using the factory mounting points and secure with the provided bolts using a 10mm socket.
  3. Connect Couplers & Tube: Slide the silicone coupler onto the throttle body and secure loosely with a hose clamp. Insert the new intake tube into the heat shield first, then into the throttle body coupler. Reconnect the crankcase breather hose.
  4. Tighten & Reconnect: Install the high-flow air filter onto the end of the tube. Align the tube for best fitment, then tighten all hose clamps with an 8mm nut driver. Reconnect the MAF sensor harness and the negative battery terminal.
