  • T20 Torx Bit: To remove the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor from the factory housing.
  • Needle-Nose Pliers: To release factory spring clamps on the PCV breather line.
  • Panel Popper / Trim Tool: To safely pry the wiring harness clips out of the factory airbox without snapping them.
Mechanic’s Pro Tip (The "Gotcha"):
The 4.3L Vortec community universally hates the giant factory plastic resonator (known on the forums as the "Vortec Hat"). Critical: Ensure the airflow arrow on the MAF points directly toward the throttle body! Transfer the IAT sensor into the provided grommet.
  3. Mount the New Intake Tube: Slide the provided silicone couplers over the throttle body and the new intake tube. Position the tube so it clears the fan shroud and AC lines. Tighten the worm-gear clamps with your 8mm nut driver until they are snug. Do not over-torque and crush the tubing.
  4. Connect the PCV & Wiring: Push the factory PCV breather line onto the newly provided aluminum nipple on your intake tube. Plug the wiring harnesses securely back into the MAF and IAT sensors. Install the high-flow conical air filter onto the end of the tube and lock it down with an 8mm nut driver.
  5. Relearn the Idle: Reconnect your negative battery terminal and tighten it with your 10mm wrench. Turn the key and start the engine. Do not touch the gas pedal for at least 20 seconds.
