Give your W210 E-Class the performance edge it deserves. This precision-engineered cold air intake delivers up to 10% gains in horsepower and torque with improved throttle response—perfect for the driver who appreciates both German engineering and real-world results.

Reclaim the Power Your Mercedes Deserves

The W210-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class earned its reputation for solid V8 performance and autobahn-bred refinement. Your 4.3L or 4.2L M113 V8 is capable of so much more than the restrictive factory airbox allows. While Mercedes prioritized silence and emissions compliance, they left performance on the table.

This cold air intake opens up your engine's breathing, drawing cooler, denser air directly into the combustion chamber. The result? Noticeable gains in both acceleration and throttle response, plus a refined intake note that reminds you there's a proper V8 under the hood. It's the upgrade that respects your Mercedes' heritage while giving it a modern performance edge.

Key Features at a Glance

  • Proven Performance Gains: Up to 10% increase in horsepower and torque with sharper throttle response
  • Premium T304 Aluminum Construction: Lightweight yet durable piping resists heat and corrosion for years of reliable service
  • High-Flow Filtration: Advanced filter media captures contaminants while maximizing airflow—no restrictive paper element
  • Enhanced Engine Sound: Hear your V8 breathe with a deeper, sportier intake tone through the stock manifold
  • Low Maintenance Design: Washable, reusable filter only needs cleaning every 50,000 miles under normal conditions

Installation & Fitment

This is a straightforward bolt-on upgrade that replaces your factory air filter and intake tube. Most enthusiasts complete installation in under an hour using basic hand tools—screwdrivers and socket wrenches. Simply remove the restrictive factory airbox and install the new aluminum intake system. After installation, disconnect your battery terminal for 30 seconds to allow your ECU to adapt to the improved airflow.

Built for the Long Haul

The T304 aluminum piping is chosen specifically for its lightweight strength and resistance to heat cycling—critical factors in the Mercedes engine bay. The high-flow filter uses advanced synthetic media engineered for superior filtration without sacrificing airflow. Unlike cheap paper filters that degrade over time, this washable element maintains its performance for the life of your vehicle.

What You Gain
  • Better Throttle Response: Feel the difference every time you press the accelerator
  • Improved Fuel Efficiency: More efficient combustion means better mileage in real-world driving
  • Sportier Driving Character: Enjoy a more engaging experience behind the wheel
  • Visual Appeal: Polished aluminum intake adds a performance look to your engine bay
  • Long-Term Value: Reusable filter saves money compared to disposable factory replacements

  • 10mm wrench
  • T25 Torx driver
  • Flathead screwdriver or 5/16 nut driver
  • Panel popper (trim tool)
Mechanic’s Pro Tip (The "Gotcha"):
The M113 V8 engine in this W210 chassis is legendary, but the factory under-hood plastics bake over time. The biggest headache universally agreed upon in the MB forums is breaking the brittle valve cover breather hoses and the factory MAF housing clips during removal. Don’t force them. If the breather hoses feel like hard plastic instead of flexible rubber, use a heat gun on a low setting to soften them up before gently prying them off with a panel popper. Snap them, and you’re grounded waiting for a dealer part.

Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part

  1. Disconnect the Battery: Always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal using a 10mm wrench to prevent check engine lights on your 1998-2002 Mercedes Benz E-Class 4.3L.
  2. Remove the Engine Cover: Grab the front edge of the factory engine cover and pull straight up to release it from its four rubber grommets. Set it aside safely.
  3. Detach Intake Tubes: Disconnect the two factory corrugated intake snorkel hoses from the front radiator core support and pull them away from the central airbox.
  4. Unplug the MAF and Breathers: Carefully depress the locking tab on the MAF sensor wiring harness and unplug it. Next, gently pull the breather hoses away from the valve covers. (Remember the heat trick if they are stuck fast!)
  5. Extract the Factory Airbox: Use a flathead screwdriver to loosen the metal band clamp securing the airbox to the throttle body. Lift the entire airbox and MAF assembly straight up and off the engine bay.

Phase 2: Installing the Cold Air Intake for Mercedes Benz E430 (1998-2002) 4.3L V8 Engine

  1. Transfer the MAF Sensor: Using your T25 Torx driver, carefully remove the screws holding the factory Mass Air Flow sensor inside the OEM housing. Handle the sensor exclusively by its plastic base—never touch the internal wire element, or you will destroy it. Transfer it into the new aftermarket intake tube and secure it with the provided hardware.
  2. Install the Throttle Body Coupler: Slide the new silicone coupler onto the throttle body. Slide two T-bolt clamps over the coupler, then use a 10mm socket to tighten the throttle body side clamp until snug. Leave the intake side clamp loose for now.
  3. Route the New Intake: Guide the new intake tubing into position, slotting the pipe into the silicone coupler. Reattach your factory breather hoses to the newly provided intake fittings. Once everything is properly aligned without binding, lock down the remaining T-bolt clamps with your 10mm socket.
  4. Mount the Filter and Reconnect Harness: Slide the new high-flow conical filter onto the end of the intake pipe and tighten the worm gear clamp with a flathead screwdriver. Plug the MAF sensor wiring harness firmly back into your transferred factory sensor.
  5. Initialize the ECU: Reconnect the negative battery terminal with your 10mm wrench. Start the vehicle, but do not touch the gas pedal for 20 seconds. Let the M113 idle untouched so the ECU can calibrate its fuel trims to the newly increased airflow.
