Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part

  5. Reconnect and Relearn: Plug the IAT sensor wiring harness back into the sensor. Reconnect your negative battery terminal using the 10mm wrench. Start the Jeep, but DO NOT touch the gas pedal for at least 20 seconds. Let it idle so the XJ’s computer can properly read the new air density and adjust the idle air control valve automatically.
