Installation

Installation Note: It is recommended to disconnect the negative battery terminal for at least 60 seconds after installation. This allows the ECU to reset and adapt to the increased airflow. Always install on a completely cool engine.

Filter Maintenance

Inspection Schedule: Inspect the air filter every 5,000 miles and clean if necessary. Driving conditions such as dusty environments, urban traffic, or spirited driving may require more frequent inspection and cleaning.

Cleaning Procedure: Remove the filter from the intake tube and gently tap to remove loose debris. Apply an appropriate air filter cleaning solution to both the inside and outside of the filter element, working it into the filter media. Allow the cleaner to soak for approximately 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with low-pressure water from the clean side outward until water runs clear. Shake off excess water and allow the filter to air dry completely in a clean environment. Once fully dry, apply air filter oil evenly according to product specifications and allow the oil to wick through the filter material for approximately 20 minutes before reinstalling. Ensure the filter is completely dry before applying oil.

Sound Characteristics

Intake Sound: Removal of the factory air box combined with the open-element filter produces a deeper, more pronounced intake sound during acceleration while remaining controlled during normal driving.
