Give your 2003-2007 Accord V6 the breathing room it deserves with a performance air intake that delivers sharper throttle response, more power, and a satisfying engine note—all in under an hour.

Wake Up That Silky V6

The seventh-generation Accord with the 3.0L V6 has always been known for its smooth power delivery and refined highway manners. It's a sedan that balances comfort with surprising capability—but Honda engineered the factory air intake for quiet operation, not maximum performance. If you've felt like your Accord could pull harder or respond quicker, you're right. There's untapped potential waiting under that hood.

This performance cold air intake replaces the restrictive factory air box with free-flowing T304 aluminum piping and a high-flow washable filter. The result? Up to 10% more horsepower and torque, crisper throttle response, and a deeper, more aggressive intake sound that reminds you there's a proper V6 under the hood. Whether you're merging onto the highway or just enjoying a spirited backroad drive, you'll feel the difference immediately.

Key Features at a Glance

  • Power Gains: Up to 10% increase in horsepower and torque for stronger acceleration and passing power
  • T304 Aluminum Construction: Lightweight, corrosion-resistant piping maximizes airflow while resisting engine bay heat
  • Superior Filtration: High-flow air filter captures contaminants while delivering significantly more air than stock
  • Enhanced Engine Sound: Deeper, sportier tone brings out the character of Honda's J30A engine
  • Low Maintenance: Washable, reusable filter only needs cleaning every 50,000 miles under normal conditions
  • Improved Throttle Response: Eliminates lag for more immediate power delivery when you need it

Installation & Fitment

This is a direct bolt-on upgrade. With basic hand tools—screwdrivers and socket wrenches—you can complete the installation in under 60 minutes. Simply remove the factory air box and install the new intake system in its place. After installation, disconnect your battery terminal briefly to allow the ECU to adapt to the increased airflow. No cutting, no permanent modifications, and no special skills required.

Built for Real-World Durability

T304 aluminum piping isn't just lighter than steel—it's highly resistant to corrosion and heat cycling, making it perfect for engine bays that experience temperature swings and moisture. The mandrel-bent design ensures smooth, turbulence-free airflow, while the high-flow filter is engineered to trap harmful particles without restricting your engine's breathing.

Your Benefits at a Glance

  • Instant Performance Upgrade: Feel the difference in throttle response and power delivery from the first drive
  • Long-Term Value: Reusable filter saves money compared to disposable stock replacements
  • Enhanced Driving Experience: Better sound, sharper acceleration, and improved efficiency in one upgrade

Installation & Tools

The Wrench Time

  • Estimated Time: 60-90 Minutes (Factory resonator removal takes patience)
  • Difficulty: 3/10 - The wrenching is straightforward, but wrestling the factory J30 air box out of the fender well requires maneuvering blind.

Tools You Will Need

  • 10mm socket and 8mm socket (with a 1/4" drive ratchet and long extension)
  • 10mm wrench (for the battery terminal)
  • Phillips head screwdriver (a stubby length is great for tight fender clearances)
  • Panel popper tool (or flathead screwdriver) for brittle plastic bumper clips
  • Pliers (for squeezing factory spring clamps on breather hoses)
Mechanic’s Pro Tip (The "Gotcha"):
The 2003-2007 Honda Accord 3.0L community knows the notorious "J30 Resonator Delete" headache. The factory intake has a massive resonator box buried behind the front driver-side bumper. Do not try to forcefully yank it out from the top engine bay—you will break something. Instead, pull back the driver-side wheel well liner or drop the corner of the bumper cover to access the hidden bolts. Also, the factory Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is notoriously brittle. Apply a tiny drop of silicone grease to the O-ring when transferring it to prevent tearing.

Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part (2003-2007 Honda Accord 3.0L)

  1. Disconnect the Battery: Always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal using a 10mm wrench to prevent check engine lights and short circuits.
  2. Unplug the IAT Sensor: Locate the Intake Air Temperature sensor on the factory rubber intake tube. Press the tab and gently unplug the wiring harness. Use your pliers to squeeze the spring clamp and remove the PCV breather hose from the intake tube.
  3. Loosen the Throttle Body: Use your Phillips head screwdriver or 8mm socket to loosen the hose clamp securing the factory rubber intake tube to the throttle body. Pull the tube free.
  4. Remove the Upper Airbox: Use your 10mm socket and extension to remove the bolts securing the upper half of the airbox to the chassis. Lift the upper box and factory air filter out of the engine bay.
  5. Extract the Lower Resonator: Use your panel popper to remove the push-clips securing the driver-side fender liner. Pull the plastic liner back to expose the hidden lower resonator box inside the bumper cavity. Use your 10mm socket to unbolt the resonator brackets from the chassis and drop the heavy plastic box out from the bottom.

Phase 2: Installing the Cold Air Intake

  1. Install the Throttle Body Coupler: Slide the provided silicone coupler over the throttle body. Slide two new hose clamps over the coupler and tighten the inner clamp securing it to the throttle body using your 8mm socket.
  2. Transfer the IAT Sensor: Very carefully twist and pull the factory IAT sensor out of the original rubber tube. Push it firmly but gently into the pre-drilled rubber grommet on your new aluminum intake pipe. Ensure the sensor tip is not bent.
  3. Route the New Intake Pipe: Guide the lower half of the new intake pipe down through the hole in the engine bay into the fender cavity. Slide the upper portion into the silicone coupler at the throttle body. Line up the welded bracket on the pipe with the factory chassis mounting hole and secure the bracket with the supplied hardware using your 10mm socket.
  4. Mount the Filter and Reconnect: Working from inside the wheel well, slide the new high-flow air filter onto the end of the intake pipe and tighten the filter clamp with your 8mm socket. Reinstall the fender liner push-clips. Up top, tighten the outer throttle body clamp, reattach the PCV breather hose, and clip the IAT sensor wiring harness back into place.
  5. Perform the ECU Relearn: Reconnect the negative battery terminal. Start your 2003-2007 Honda Accord 3.0L and do not touch the gas pedal for 20 seconds. Let it idle so the ECU can properly adjust to the increased airflow parameters before you rev the engine.
