Bolt-on cold air intake engineered for the 2008–2012 Accord 3.5L V6. Delivers sharper throttle response, stronger mid-range pull, and a deep V6 growl—complete kit with everything needed for installation.
Give Your V6 the Airflow It Deserves
The J35 V6 in your 8th-gen Accord is smooth, refined, and capable of 271 horsepower—but Honda prioritized quiet operation over outright performance. The factory airbox chokes airflow with restrictive bends and a paper filter that can't keep up during hard acceleration. This cold air intake opens things up.
By replacing the stock intake with a high-flow system, you're feeding the engine cooler, denser air. The result is immediate: crisper throttle response when merging onto the highway, stronger pull in the mid-range, and a satisfying V6 intake note that reminds you there's real power under the hood.
What You'll Notice
- Improved Throttle Response: Less lag from a stop, more immediate power delivery
- Stronger Mid-Range Torque: Better acceleration during passing and merging
- Horsepower Gains: Noticeable improvement across the RPM range
- Better Engine Sound: Deep V6 induction growl under throttle—no annoying drone
- Optimized Air-Fuel Ratio: Cleaner combustion for improved efficiency
- High-Flow Filtration: Blocks debris while maximizing airflow
Direct Bolt-On Installation
This kit replaces the factory airbox with a streamlined intake tube and high-flow filter. Installation takes about an hour with basic hand tools—no cutting or permanent modifications required. All mounting hardware, clamps, and couplers are included.
Important: Disconnect the negative battery terminal before starting and leave it disconnected for at least one minute after finishing. This allows the ECU to reset and adapt to the improved airflow.
Built for Reliability
The intake tube is designed to handle engine bay heat and vibration. The high-flow performance filter provides excellent filtration while flowing significantly more air than the factory paper element. Every component is engineered to fit the 8th-gen Accord's engine bay without interference.

Installation & Tools
Installation & Tools
The Wrench Time
- Estimated Time: 60-90 Minutes
- Difficulty: 4/10 - Dropping the factory resonator requires peeling back the fender liner, but it is basic bolt-on wrenching.
Tools You Will Need
- 10mm socket and a ratchet with a 6-inch extension
- 8mm socket or flathead screwdriver (for hose clamps)
- Panel popper tool (to remove brittle factory fender clips)
- Pliers (for the OEM PCV spring clamps)
- #2 Phillips screwdriver (for the MAF sensor screws)
If you spend any time on the 8th Gen forums, you know the J35 V6 suffers from massive heat soak with the stock airbox, but the real headache is removing the massive factory resonator box hidden inside the driver’s side bumper. DIYers often try to rip it out from the top and end up cracking their bumper cover. Don’t force it. Use your panel popper to carefully remove the push clips in the driver’s side wheel well, peel back the plastic fender liner, and access the hidden 10mm bolts holding the lower resonator from underneath.
Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part
- Disconnect the Battery: Always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal on your 2008-2012 Honda Accord 3.5L using a 10mm wrench to prevent check engine lights and reset the ECU fuel trims.
- Unplug the MAF Sensor: Locate the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor on the factory intake tube. Slide the red locking tab back, press down on the clip, and pull straight out. Do not yank the wires. Unclip the wiring harness from the airbox.
- Disconnect the PCV Breather: Use your pliers to squeeze the factory spring clamp on the crankcase breather hose, slide it back, and pull the hose off the factory intake tube.
- Loosen the Throttle Body: Grab your 8mm socket and loosen the band clamp securing the rubber intake hose to the J35’s throttle body.
- Extract the Upper Airbox: Use your 10mm socket to remove the bolts holding the upper airbox assembly to the chassis. Pull the upper box and factory accordion hose out as one unit.
- Delete the Lower Resonator: Turn your steering wheel all the way to the right. Use a panel popper to remove the 3-4 push clips at the front edge of the driver’s side fender liner. Pull the liner back, locate the hidden 10mm bolts securing the giant white/black resonator box, and drop the box out through the bottom of the bumper.
Phase 2: Installing the Cold Air Intake for Honda Accord (2008-2012) 3.5L V6 Engine
- Transfer the MAF Sensor: Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to remove the MAF sensor from the factory airbox. Extremely Critical: Do not touch the delicate amber wire inside the sensor with your fingers or let dirt get into it. Carefully insert it into the new aftermarket aluminum intake pipe and secure it with the supplied hardware using a Phillips screwdriver or Allen key.
- Mount the Silicone Coupler: Slide the provided silicone step-down coupler onto the 3.5L throttle body. Slip two new worm-gear clamps over the coupler, but leave them loose. Slide the new intake pipe into the coupler.
- Route the Cold Air Tube: Feed the lower half of the intake pipe down through the hole in the engine bay left by the old resonator so the filter will sit down inside the fender well (away from J-series engine heat). Align the mounting brackets to the factory rubber chassis grommets and tighten them down with a 10mm socket.
- Secure the Filter and Hoses: Attach the high-flow air filter to the bottom of the intake pipe inside the bumper area and clamp it tight with an 8mm socket. Reconnect the PCV breather hose using the supplied silicone tubing and clamps. Double-check that all throttle body clamps are fully tightened down.
- Reconnect and Relearn: Plug the MAF sensor wiring harness back into the sensor until it clicks. Reconnect the negative battery terminal using your 10mm wrench. Start the vehicle. Crucial step: On the first startup, the vehicle gas pedal should not be touched for 20 seconds until the ECU adjusts to the new airflow volume. Let it idle for 10 minutes to lock in the new idle trims.
