Mechanic’s Pro Tip (The "Gotcha"):
If you’ve spent five minutes on the S550 Coyote forums, you know this chassis has two massive headaches: the factory PCV quick-disconnect fittings and the useless Sound Tube. The grey and green plastic tabs on the factory breather hoses get incredibly brittle from engine heat. Do NOT yank them. Push the tab IN, push the hose forward slightly to release the lock, and then pull back safely. Also, this is the perfect time to do a "Sound Tube Delete"—cap off that firewall grommet so you don’t tear your knuckles up trying to reinstall it.

Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part on your 2015-2017 Ford Mustang 5.0L

  1. Disconnect the Battery: Always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal using a 10mm wrench to prevent check engine lights.
  2. Disconnect the MAF Sensor: On your 2015-2017 Ford Mustang 5.0L, locate the Mass Air Flow sensor on the factory intake tube. Slide the red locking tab back, press the clip, and gently pull the harness off. Use a panel popper to free the harness wire tie from the airbox.
