Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part

Disconnect the Battery: Always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal using a 10mm wrench to prevent check engine lights and allow the ECU to clear its short-term fuel trims.
Unplug the IAT Sensor: Locate the IAT sensor plugged into the factory intake tube. Depress the locking tab and pull the harness connector free. Use a panel popper to carefully pry the plastic harness retainer clip out of the intake tube so the wire hangs free.

Install the Filter and Reconnect: Slide the high-flow air filter onto the end of the tube inside the heat shield and crank down the final clamp. Plug the IAT sensor wiring harness back into the sensor until you hear a "click."
The ECU Relearn Procedure: Reconnect your negative battery terminal using the 10mm wrench. Turn the key to the ON position (do not start the engine). Wait 20 seconds without touching the gas pedal. This allows the electronic throttle body and ECU to calibrate the sweep. After 20 seconds, fire up the truck and check for vacuum leaks.
