Elevate your 3.6L Pentastar V6 with this precision-engineered cold air intake system. Designed for 2011-2023 Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Challenger models, this kit delivers sharper throttle response, improved acceleration, and an aggressive intake sound that matches your vehicle's bold presence.

Give Your Pentastar V6 the Airflow It Craves

The 3.6L Pentastar V6 is Chrysler's workhorse engine—reliable, refined, and capable. But the factory airbox holds it back with restrictive ducting and a paper filter that chokes airflow. Your engine is literally working harder than it needs to just to breathe.

This cold air intake system removes those restrictions completely. By replacing the cramped factory setup with a streamlined induction path and high-flow filter, your engine pulls in cooler, denser air with minimal effort. The payoff is immediate: crisper throttle response, smoother acceleration through the power band, and noticeably better performance during highway merges and passing maneuvers. Plus, you'll hear your V6 come alive with a deeper, more muscular intake note under acceleration.

Key Performance Benefits

  • Increased Airflow Capacity: High-flow intake piping eliminates factory bottlenecks, allowing your engine to breathe freely
  • Sharper Throttle Response: Feel the difference immediately—no more sluggish pedal feel from the restrictive stock intake
  • Cooler Intake Temperatures: Integrated heat shield blocks engine bay heat to maintain dense, oxygen-rich air for better combustion
  • Enhanced Engine Sound: Deep, sporty induction growl adds character without being obnoxious for daily driving
  • Built to Last: Premium construction materials resist corrosion and heat for years of reliable performance
  • Reusable Filter: Washable synthetic filter element saves money over disposable factory replacements

Simple Bolt-On Installation

This is a straightforward upgrade that uses your factory mounting points—no cutting, drilling, or fabrication required. Most owners complete installation in 60-90 minutes with basic hand tools. The kit includes everything you need: intake tube, high-flow red filter, custom heat shield, plus all couplers, clamps, and hardware for a secure, leak-free fit.

Installation Tip: Basic Install Guide - Disconnect your battery's negative terminal before starting and leave it disconnected for at least one minute after installation. This allows your ECU to relearn the fuel and air parameters with the new intake system. Always work on a cool engine to avoid burns.

Premium Materials for Long-Term Performance

The intake tube features lightweight, heat-resistant construction that maintains structural integrity even in extreme engine bay temperatures. The washable synthetic filter uses advanced media technology to capture contaminants while maximizing airflow—far superior to restrictive paper elements. The custom-designed heat shield creates a barrier between your intake and the engine's radiant heat, ensuring consistently cool air intake temperatures for optimal power output.

What You'll Experience
  • Better Acceleration: More responsive power delivery from idle to redline
  • Improved Drivability: Smoother power band makes everyday driving more enjoyable
  • Confident Passing Power: Extra surge when you need it most on the highway
  • Upgraded Engine Bay: Bold red filter and polished piping add a custom performance look
  • Satisfying Sound: Hear your V6 breathe with an aggressive intake note that turns heads

Installation & Tools

The Wrench Time

  • Estimated Time: 45-60 Minutes
  • Difficulty: 2/10 - A straightforward bolt-on upgrade perfect for driveway wrenching.

Tools You Will Need

  • 10mm deep socket & ratchet (For battery and airbox mounting bolts)
  • 8mm socket or nut driver (For factory and aftermarket hose clamps)
  • Flathead screwdriver (For prying stubborn clips)
  • Trim panel removal tool (To safely unclip the factory wiring harness anchors)
  • Clean motor oil or silicone spray (For sensor lubrication)
Mechanic’s Pro Tip (The "Gotcha"):
The biggest headache on the Pentastar V6 platform is the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor. It is extremely fragile. DIYers constantly snap the plastic locking tab or rip the wires out by pulling on the harness instead of the connector base. When transferring the sensor to the new tube, if you try to push it into a dry rubber grommet, you will snap the tip off. Always use a drop of oil to lubricate the aftermarket grommet first! Also, remember your battery is located in the trunk under the floor panel, not under the hood.

Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part from your 2011-2023 Dodge Chrysler Challenger Charger 300 3.6L

  1. Disconnect the Battery: Open your trunk, lift the spare tire cover, and locate the battery. Always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal using a 10mm socket to prevent check engine lights and protect the ECU.
  2. Remove the Engine Cover: Grab the plastic factory engine cover by the edges and pull straight up to pop it off its ball studs. Set it aside.
  3. Unplug the IAT Sensor: Locate the IAT sensor on the factory intake tube. Depress the locking tab, grab the plastic connector body (not the wires!), and pull firmly to unplug it. Use your trim panel removal tool to pop the plastic harness anchor clip out of the intake tube so the wire hangs free.
  4. Disconnect the Breather Hose: Pull the crankcase breather hose off the side of the factory airbox. If it’s stubborn, carefully walk it off with a flathead screwdriver.
  5. Loosen the Throttle Body Clamp: Use your 8mm socket to loosen the hose clamp securing the factory intake tube to the throttle body.
  6. Extract the Factory Airbox: Remove the single factory mounting bolt holding the airbox to the core support using your 10mm socket. Grab the entire factory silencer box assembly and yank aggressively straight up to dislodge it from the rubber grommets on the fender well. Remove the assembly from the engine bay.

Phase 2: Installing the Cold Air Intake for Dodge Challenger Charger & Chrysler 300 (2011-2023) 3.6L Engine

  1. Assemble the Heat Shield: Install the provided rubber edge trim around the top rim of your new heat shield. Press firmly along the edges to seat it. Drop the shield into the factory mounting holes on the fender well and secure it using the original factory bolt and your 10mm socket.
  2. Mount the Throttle Body Coupler: Slide the silicone reducer coupler onto the throttle body. Slip two aftermarket hose clamps over the coupler, then snug down the throttle body side using your 8mm socket. Do not overtighten and crush the plastic throttle body lip.
  3. Transfer the IAT Sensor: Gently twist the factory IAT sensor counter-clockwise to remove it from the OEM tube. Install the supplied rubber grommet into your new cold air intake tube. Apply one drop of clean motor oil to the inside of the grommet, then push the IAT sensor in carefully with a twisting motion.
  4. Install the Intake Tube and Filter: Slide the new tube into the throttle body coupler, then attach your high-flow air filter inside the heat shield area. Tighten all remaining hose clamps securely with your 8mm socket. Connect the crankcase breather hose to the new fitting on the tube, and plug the IAT sensor harness back in until it clicks.
  5. The 20-Second Startup Protocol: Reconnect your negative battery terminal in the trunk using your 10mm socket. Start the engine, but do not touch the gas pedal. Let the vehicle idle completely untouched for exactly 20 seconds. This allows the Pentastar ECU to recognize the denser air volume and adjust the fuel trims without throwing a Check Engine Light.
