The hard plastic PCV breather hose connected to it. After years of heat cycles, this hose becomes incredibly brittle. Do NOT yank it off. Use your pliers to gently release the spring clamp, and carefully twist the hose to break the seal before pulling. Snap this nipple, and you are taking an unexpected trip to the parts store.

Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part
