Unleash the Supercharged Roar of Your Cadillac CTS-V LSA V8 with this Performance Cold Air Intake

Who It’s For: Designed specifically for Cadillac CTS-V owners (2009-2015) running the potent, supercharged LSA V8 engine.

The Problem: The factory intake system on the supercharged LSA V8, while adequate for daily driving, becomes a significant bottleneck when you’re truly pushing the car. Cadillac engineered it for quiet operation, not maximum airflow, and it’s notorious for heat soak, especially during spirited driving or track sessions. The supercharger wants to pull in air freely, but the stock system restricts that crucial flow, leading to less efficient boost, dulled throttle response, and robbing your LSA of its full, pavement-shredding power. With factory ratings of 556 hp and 551 lb-ft of torque, you need every bit of efficiency you can get.

The Solution: This precision-engineered cold air intake system directly addresses those factory limitations. We designed it to provide a direct, high-volume, and significantly cooler air path straight to your LSA’s supercharger, reducing thermal resistance and maximizing boost efficiency. You’ll feel immediate gains in throttle response, a noticeable bump in horsepower and torque, and a far more aggressive induction note that truly matches the LSA V8’s character and capabilities. It’s not just about more air; it’s about cooler, denser air, allowing your supercharger to perform optimally.

Why This is the Ultimate Upgrade

  • Serious Power Gains: Expect up to a 10% increase in horsepower and torque. This isn’t just a number; it’s a tangible shove in the back that you’ll feel from initial throttle tip-in right through the power band. It truly transforms the already beastly LSA V8 into an even more formidable machine.
  • Superior Thermal Management: Featuring a specialized heat shield and optimized piping, this system dramatically reduces heat soak. We all know how much a supercharged engine hates hot air; this intake ensures a consistent, cooler, denser air charge, which translates directly to more reliable, repeatable power, especially under demanding conditions.
  • Razor-Sharp Throttle Response: By removing the factory’s restrictive airflow path, this intake eliminates intake lag. You get a much more direct, instantaneous connection between your foot and the engine’s output, making your CTS-V feel lighter and more agile than ever before.
  • Aggressive LSA Soundtrack: Beyond the performance, this intake liberates the true voice of your supercharged LSA V8. You’ll get a deep, intoxicating induction growl that perfectly complements the whine of the supercharger, making every drive an event.
  • High-Flow Filtration: Comes equipped with a premium, reusable high-flow dry cone air filter. This isn’t just about flow; it’s about protection. It effectively blocks damaging debris while ensuring maximum air volume for your engine’s hungry supercharger.

Installation & Tools

The Wrench Time

  • Estimated Time: 45-60 Minutes
  • Difficulty: 3/10 - Straightforward bolt-on, but requires a delicate touch with the factory electronics and brittle GM plastics.

Tools You Will Need

  • 10mm deep socket & ratchet (for battery and factory airbox mounts)
  • 8mm nut driver or flathead screwdriver (for hose clamps)
  • T15 Torx driver (for removing and transferring the MAF sensor)
  • Panel popper tool (for radiator shroud push-pins)
  • Pick tool (to gently release electrical clips without breaking them)
Mechanic’s Pro Tip (The "Gotcha"):
The V2 CTS-V community knows all about the dreaded broken MAF clip. The red locking tab on your factory Mass Air Flow sensor harness is baked brittle from years of LSA engine heat. Use a small pick tool to gently slide the red lock back before squeezing the connector. If you force it, it WILL snap. Also, the LSA supercharger is incredibly sensitive to IAT2 (Intake Air Temp 2) spikes. Make sure your new heat shield weatherstripping seals perfectly against the hood to block out radiant engine bay heat, or you’ll lose horsepower to heat soak.

Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part from your 2009-2015 Cadillac CTS 6.2L

  1. Disconnect the Battery: Always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal using a 10mm wrench to prevent check engine lights and protect the ECU.
  2. Unplug the MAF Sensor: Carefully slide the red locking tab back with your pick tool and depress the clip to disconnect the MAF sensor harness. Tuck the wire safely out of the way.
  3. Remove the PCV Breather: Locate the hard plastic PCV line connecting the valve cover to the factory intake tube. Push the grey release button and pull straight off. Do not bend this tube; they crack easily on the 2009-2015 Cadillac CTS 6.2L platforms.
  4. Loosen the Throttle Body Clamp: Using your 8mm nut driver, loosen the worm gear clamp securing the factory intake tube to the throttle body.
  5. Yank the Factory Airbox: Remove the factory mounting bolts securing the lower airbox using your 10mm deep socket. Grab the entire airbox assembly and pull straight up with steady pressure to pop it out of the lower rubber mounting grommets. Watch out for the radiator shroud pins; use your panel popper if the factory plastics are in the way.

Phase 2: Installing the Cold Air Intake for Cadillac CTS-V (2009-2015) 6.2L V8 Engine

  1. Transfer the MAF Sensor: Using your T15 Torx driver, carefully remove the two screws holding the MAF sensor in the factory box. Pull it straight out without touching the exposed delicate wires inside the sensor housing. Transfer it to your new aftermarket intake tube. Tighten the provided hardware gently—do not strip the threads on the new tube.
  2. Mount the Heat Shield: Drop the new aftermarket airbox or heat shield into the engine bay, utilizing the factory lower grommets. Secure it to the chassis using the provided hardware and your 10mm socket. Ensure the weatherstripping is installed tightly to combat that notorious LSA heat soak.
  3. Install the Tube and Filter: Slide the silicone couplers onto the throttle body and intake tube. Drop the massive new air filter into the heat shield compartment, slide the tube into place, and tighten all clamps down snug using your 8mm nut driver. Don’t over-crush the silicone couplers.
  4. Reconnect Lines and Harness: Snap the factory PCV breather hose onto the new intake tube fitting. Plug the MAF sensor harness back in, pressing firmly until it clicks, and push the red locking tab back into the locked position.
  5. ECU Adjustment Protocol: Reconnect your negative battery terminal using your 10mm wrench. Start the vehicle. Do not touch the gas pedal for at least 20 seconds. Let the 2009-2015 Cadillac CTS 6.2L ECU idle, learn the new increased airflow parameters, and adjust its fuel trims before you go out and let that blower whine!
