Mechanic’s Pro Tip (The "Gotcha"):
The 1994-2001 DC4/DB7 chassis has two major pain points during this install. First, the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor shoved into the factory rubber arm is extremely fragile. Don’t pry it with a screwdriver; twist and pull by hand to save the plastic tip. Second, the massive factory resonator box is trapped behind the passenger front bumper. Don’t try to force it out from the top—you will bend AC lines. You must drop the passenger fender liner to access the hidden 10mm bolts.

Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part

Disconnect the Battery: Always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal using a 10mm wrench to prevent check engine lights and clear the ECU memory.
Disconnect the IAT Sensor and Breather: Locate the IAT sensor on the rubber intake tube. Carefully twist and pull it free by hand. Use pliers to pinch the spring clamp on the valve cover PCV breather hose and pull the hose off the metal hardline.
Remove the Factory Intake Tube: Loosen the hose clamps at the throttle body and the airbox lid using an 8mm socket. Pull the ribbed rubber tube completely out of your 1994-2001 Acura Integra 1.8L and set it aside.
Unbolt the Upper Airbox: Use a 10mm socket on a long extension to remove the three bolts securing the plastic airbox to the engine bay chassis. Lift the box and filter assembly out.
Evict the Resonator Box: Jack up the front passenger side of the vehicle and secure it firmly on a jack stand. Use a panel popper to carefully remove the plastic clips securing the passenger side fender liner/splash shield. Pull the plastic liner back. Grab your 10mm socket, reach up inside the bumper cavity, and remove the two hidden bolts holding the resonator box. Wiggle the entire box out through the wheel well.

Phase 2: Installing the Cold Air Intake for Acura Integra LS RS GS SE (1994-2001) 1.8L Engine

Install the Throttle Body Coupler: Slide the provided silicone reducer onto the throttle body. Slip two hose clamps over the silicone, and snug down the throttle body side using an 8mm socket. Leave the other clamp loose for now.
Route the Cold Air Pipe: Take the longest section of your new intake piping and carefully feed it down through the exposed chassis hole into the passenger side fender well where the OEM resonator used to sit.
Mount the Intake Tube: Slide the upper end of the pipe into the silicone coupler at the throttle body. Line up the welded bracket on the pipe with the factory threaded hole on the shock tower. Install the supplied rubber vibration mount, washer, and nut using a 10mm wrench. Do not over-tighten, or you’ll tear the rubber isolator. Tighten the remaining hose clamp with your 8mm socket.
Transfer the IAT Sensor: Gently press your factory IAT sensor into the pre-drilled rubber grommet on the new intake pipe until it sits flush. Reconnect the sensor wiring harness. Route the supplied silicone breather hose from the valve cover to the nipple on the intake pipe and secure it.
Mount the Filter: Crawl back under the passenger fender well. Slide the high-flow air filter onto the bottom of the intake pipe. Rotate it so it doesn’t rub against the frame rail or the plastic fender liner. Tighten the filter clamp firmly with an 8mm socket, then reinstall your fender liner clips.
The ECU Relearn Protocol: Lower the vehicle and reconnect the negative battery terminal. Start the engine, but do not touch the gas pedal for exactly 20 seconds. The B18B1 ECU needs this undisturbed time to adjust its idle trims to accommodate the massive increase in cold air flow. Check for vacuum leaks or whistling.
