This results in smaller diameter piping and crush-bent sections that significantly impede exhaust scavenging. These internal bottlenecks create turbulence, forcing the 2GR-FKS engine to work harder to expel spent gases, which ultimately limits top-end horsepower and throttle response. Furthermore, the factory aluminized steel is highly susceptible to surface oxidation and corrosion when exposed to road salts and thermal cycling, leading to structural degradation over time.

The Engineering Solution

This system is constructed from 3-inch OD T-409 stainless steel, utilizing computerized mandrel-bending to ensure a constant diameter throughout every curve. By maintaining a uniform internal surface area, this system optimizes laminar flow and reduces the parasitic loss associated with backpressure. The TIG-welded construction and CNC-machined flanges provide superior structural integrity and a leak-proof seal against high exhaust temperatures. The 3" high-flow piping allows the 3.5L V6 to breathe more efficiently, improving volumetric efficiency and facilitating a deeper, more aggressive tone without the rasp typically found in lower-quality systems.
