Unleash the dormant power of your Dodge Charger or Magnum 3.5L V6 and transform every drive into an exhilarating experience. This Cold Air Intake isn’t just an upgrade; it’s an immediate injection of aggressive sound, sharper throttle response, and a noticeable surge in horsepower.

Performance Cold Air Intake Kit for Dodge Charger & Magnum (LX) with 3.5L V6 Engine

The potent 3.5L V6 engine in your Charger or Magnum, while a strong performer from the factory, is often stifled by its highly restrictive stock air intake system. This factory design is engineered for quiet operation and cost-efficiency, not for maximizing volumetric efficiency or power output.

Our Performance Cold Air Intake Kit directly addresses this limitation by replacing the narrow, convoluted OEM piping and restrictive air box with a high-flow, T304 lightweight aluminum induction system. This upgrade delivers a proven increase of up to 10% in both horsepower and torque, providing immediate benefits like sharper throttle response and a much more aggressive, satisfying engine note.

Why You Need This Upgrade

  • Dyno-Proven Power Gains: Unlock up to 10% more horsepower and torque by delivering a massive volume of unrestricted cold air directly to your 3.5L V6 engine.
  • Sharpened Throttle Response: Experience immediate, crisp acceleration and eliminate the frustrating lag often associated with factory air intake systems.
  • Aggressive V6 Soundtrack: Transform your mild factory intake noise into a deep, throaty growl under acceleration, enhancing your driving experience.
  • Premium T304 Aluminum Design: Constructed from lightweight, corrosion-resistant T304 aluminum for superior durability, efficient heat dissipation, and an impressive under-hood aesthetic.
  • Long-Term Value & Low Maintenance: Features a high-performance, washable, and reusable air filter designed to last up to 50,000 miles between cleanings, saving you money on replacements.
  • OEM Warranty Friendly: Designed to integrate seamlessly with your vehicle’s existing systems, ensuring your factory warranty remains intact.

Installation & Tools

The Wrench Time

  • Estimated Time: 45-60 Minutes
  • Difficulty: 3/10 - A straightforward bolt-on, but requires patience dealing with brittle factory LX-platform plastics and routing out the hidden OEM silencer box.

Tools You Will Need

  • 10mm Socket & Ratchet (For battery terminal and factory airbox mounting bolt)
  • 8mm Socket or Nut Driver (For hose clamps)
  • 6-Inch Ratchet Extension (To reach the lower airbox mounts)
  • Flathead Screwdriver or Panel Popper (For factory push-pins)
  • Silicone Spray or Soapy Water (Crucial for the IAT sensor transfer)
Mechanic’s Pro Tip (The "Gotcha"):
The LX community universally warns about the factory Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. After years of heat cycling, the factory rubber grommet turns to stone, and the plastic sensor probe becomes incredibly brittle. Do not yank it by the wiring harness. Carefully twist and pry it out. When reinstalling into your new intake tube, you MUST use silicone spray or soapy water on the new grommet, or you will snap the sensor tip right off. Also, be prepared to muscle out the massive factory lower resonator box buried in the fender well—it’s a known headache on these 3.5L blocks.

Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part from your 2006-2010 Dodge Charger 3.5L

  1. Disconnect the Battery: Always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal using a 10mm wrench or socket. This prevents check engine lights and forces the ECU to reset its fuel trims for the new airflow.
  2. Unplug the IAT Sensor: Locate the IAT sensor on the factory intake tube. Depress the locking tab and pull the electrical connector free. Using a gentle wiggling motion, twist and pull the sensor out of the factory tube. Set it somewhere safe.
  3. Loosen the Throttle Body Clamp: Grab your 8mm socket and loosen the factory hose clamp securing the intake tube to the 3.5L throttle body.
  4. Unbolt and Remove the Upper Airbox: Use your 10mm socket and extension to remove the single mounting bolt securing the factory airbox to the front core support. Grab the entire upper airbox and tube assembly and pull straight up to pop it off its rubber mounting pegs.
  5. Extract the Lower Silencer Box: Look down into the space you just opened up. You will see a bulky plastic resonator box bolted into the fender area. Use your 10mm socket to remove the lower mounting bolt, then wrestle the box up and out of the engine bay.

Phase 2: Installing the Cold Air Intake Kit for Dodge Charger SE/SXT 3.5L

  1. Assemble the Heat Shield: Piece together the new heat shield using the supplied hardware and tighten it down with a 10mm socket. Press the supplied rubber edge trim along the top edges to seal it against the hood, trimming any excess with snips. Bolt the heat shield into the factory core support location.
  2. Mount the Silicone Coupler: Slide the provided silicone coupler over the 3.5L throttle body. Slip two hose clamps loosely over the coupler, but do not fully tighten them yet.
  3. Seat the Blue Intake Tube: Guide the new Blue aluminum intake tube through the heat shield opening and slide the opposite end into the throttle body coupler. Once properly aligned, snug down the hose clamps using your 8mm socket.
  4. Execute the Sensor Protocol: Push the supplied rubber grommet into the pre-drilled hole on the new intake tube. Apply a drop of soapy water to the grommet. Gently push the factory IAT sensor into the grommet using a twisting motion until fully seated. Reconnect the factory wiring harness until you hear it click.
  5. Install the Filter & Initialize ECU: Attach the high-flow conical filter to the end of the intake tube inside the heat shield and lock it down firmly with your 8mm socket. Reconnect your negative battery terminal. Turn the key to start the vehicle, and do not touch the gas pedal for 20 seconds. The ECU needs this idle time to read the new incoming air volume from the relocated IAT sensor and adjust the idle accordingly.
