Mechanic’s Pro Tip (The "Gotcha"):
On the 2014-2018 Chevrolet GMC Silverado Sierra 4.3L EcoTec3 engine, the factory PCV breather hose connects to the intake tube with a highly brittle grey plastic release tab. Do not pry or twist it! Push the hose inward toward the tube first to relieve tension, depress the grey tab, and then gently slide it off. Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part

The 20-Second Relearn: Reconnect your negative battery terminal with a 10mm wrench. Turn the key to start the vehicle, but do not touch the gas pedal for at least 20 seconds. The EcoTec3 ECU needs this exact window to recalibrate its idle parameters and adjust to the massive increase in airflow.
