Furthermore, excessive ambient under-hood heat accelerates the degradation of nearby wiring harnesses, plastic fluid reservoirs, silicone hoses, and sensitive electronic sensors, leading to premature component failure and reliability issues under heavy track or towing loads.

The Engineering Solution

This universal 2-inch wide, 1/16-inch thick fiberglass thermal tape acts as a robust thermal barrier, rated to withstand extreme temperatures up to 3000° Fahrenheit. By insulating the exhaust runners, the wrap forces the thermal energy to remain within the exhaust piping. This maintains higher exhaust gas velocities, improving cylinder scavenging and overall exhaust flow dynamics. The package includes two 50-foot rolls and 12 stainless steel ties for a secure, tight installation. Technical Note: The material requires a short curing period upon initial heat cycling. Expect temporary smoke and discoloration (shifting to a grayish/brownish tone) for the first 1 to 5 days of operation as the internal binders burn off and cure.
