The Stock Heat Soak Problem

Factory cast exhaust manifolds and aftermarket tubular headers radiate massive amounts of thermal energy directly into the engine bay. This radiant heat causes severe heat soak, dramatically increasing intake air temperatures (IATs). Hotter, less dense air forces the ECU to retard ignition timing, directly robbing your engine of horsepower and torque. Furthermore, excessive under-hood temperatures prematurely degrade surrounding plastic components, wiring harnesses, and fluid lines, creating reliability issues during track sessions or heavy towing.

The Engineering Solution

Wrapping the exhaust components with this 1/16-inch thick, 2-inch wide extreme-temperature fiberglass tape locks thermal energy inside the piping. Engineered to withstand temperatures up to 3000° Fahrenheit, this wrap is designed to endure extreme conditions without structural failure or unraveling. Keeping heat inside the exhaust increases the velocity of the exhaust gases, which significantly improves cylinder scavenging and accelerates turbo spool times. The kit includes two 50-foot rolls and 12 securement ties. Note: The wrap undergoes a short curing period (1-5 days) where temporary natural smoke and discoloration occur. Once fully heat-cycled, the material stabilizes to a grey/brown hue, providing long-lasting thermal protection.
