Warranty Policy

This Warranty Policy explains the limited warranty Performance Chip Tuning ("we," "us," "our") provides on products sold through performancechiptuning.com. Performance Chip Tuning has served customers since 2010 and is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This policy is part of our Terms of Service and works alongside our Refund Policy.

1. Coverage

We warrant that products sold by Performance Chip Tuning will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and when installed and used according to our instructions. This is a limited warranty. It covers only the product itself and only the defects described in this policy.

2. Warranty Period

Products are covered by our Lifetime Replacement Warranty for as long as the original purchaser owns the product. "Lifetime" means the life of the product while owned by the original purchaser; it does not mean the life of the vehicle or of any later owner. The warranty is not transferable. Proof of purchase from performancechiptuning.com (your order number) is required.

3. How to File a Warranty Claim

To start a claim, contact our customer support team before returning anything:

Your claim must include:

  1. Your order number;
  2. A clear description of the problem, including your vehicle year, make, model and engine; and
  3. Photos of the product and of the problem (and of the installation, if installed).

We will review your claim and, if approved, issue a return authorization with instructions. Products returned without prior authorization may be refused. We may inspect any returned product to confirm the defect before providing a remedy.

4. Return and Shipping Responsibility

The customer is responsible for removing the product from the vehicle and returning it to us. The customer pays all shipping costs for warranty claims, including shipping the product to us and shipping the repaired or replacement product back to the customer. We recommend a trackable, insured shipping method. We are not responsible for products lost or damaged in transit to us.

5. Exclusions

This warranty does not cover, and is void for, any product that has been:

  • Damaged, whether physically, by electrical fault, by water or by heat;
  • Misused, abused or neglected, or not used in the correct manner;
  • Installed improperly or not according to our instructions, or installed on a vehicle it was not listed to fit;
  • Modified, altered, disassembled or repaired by anyone other than us;
  • Used in racing, competition, off-road use or other extreme conditions;
  • Involved in an accident, collision, fire, flood or other casualty.

The warranty also does not cover normal wear and tear (including filter media, finish, paint, coating, discoloration and cosmetic wear), consumable parts, or problems caused by other parts or the vehicle itself.

6. Remedy

If we confirm a covered defect, we will repair or replace the product, at our discretion. If the same product is no longer available, we may substitute a product of equal or similar function and value. Repair or replacement is your only remedy under this warranty. Warranty claims are not eligible for refunds. Refunds are handled only under our Refund Policy and its time limits.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Performance Chip Tuning is not liable for any incidental, consequential, special or indirect damages, including but not limited to: labor or installation costs, removal or reinstallation costs, diagnostic, mechanic or dealer fees, towing, vehicle rental, loss of use of a vehicle, lost time, lost wages or lost income. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product will not exceed the price you paid for that product.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

8. Emissions and Legal Use

You are responsible for making sure any product you install complies with the federal, state and local emissions and vehicle laws that apply to your vehicle and location. Some products may not be legal for use on public roads in certain states, including California and other states that follow CARB rules, unless they carry a valid exemption. Failing an emissions or safety inspection, and any fines or fees that result, are not covered by this warranty.

9. Your Rights Under the Law

This warranty is a limited warranty under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. It gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Any implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the extent allowed by law. Some states do not allow limits on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. Nothing in this policy limits any right you have that cannot be waived under applicable law.

10. Governing Law

This Warranty Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the consumer protection laws of your state require otherwise.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Warranty Policy at any time by posting the revised version on this page. The policy in effect on the date of your purchase applies to that purchase.
