Turbocharger for Honda Civic (2016-2020) 1.5L

Direct-Fit Replacement Turbocharger for 2016-2020 Honda Civic (FC/FK)

What it Does: The direct-replacement turbocharger replaces a failing factory unit on the 2016-2020 Civic to restore lost boost pressure, eliminate oil blow-by, and regain crisp throttle response.

The Stock Honda Civic Wastegate and Journal Bearing Wear

The factory L15B7 turbocharger relies on tight-tolerance journal bearings and an internal wastegate actuator that endure severe thermal cycling under commuter and performance loads. Over time, high oil operating temperatures and oil carbonization cause shaft play, degraded dynamic oil seals, and carbon fouling within the turbine housing. This bearing degradation leads to excessive compressor housing oil contamination, chronic boost leaks, wastegate rattle, and persistent underboost diagnostic trouble codes (DTC P0299).

The Engineering Solution

This TD025 replacement turbocharger is engineered to meet original equipment operational specifications. Featuring a high-temperature alloy turbine housing and precision-balanced rotating assembly, it delivers rapid transient spool response without oil blow-by. All integrated oil-feed and coolant gallery ports are precision-machined to mate directly with original hard lines, ensuring proper lubrication dissipation and heat management across the entire rev range without requiring aftermarket oil line adaptations or ECU tuning.

Frequently Asked Questions & Fitment Warnings

Does this fit the FC/FK Civic?

Yes, this is a direct fit for the 2016-2020 Honda Civic equipped with the L15B7 1.5L turbocharged engine; it does not fit Civic models equipped with the naturally aspirated 2.0L (K20C2) engine or Type R (K20C1).

What maintenance is required prior to firing the new turbo?

You must completely flush or replace the oil feed and return lines, prime the center cartridge with clean engine oil, and complete a fresh oil and filter change to prevent immediate dry-start bearing failure.

The Honda Standard

Engineered for high-revving efficiency, this replacement unit preserves factory spool characteristics and linear mid-range boost delivery to maintain reliable daily performance.
