Over decades of thermal cycling, these plastic tanks become brittle, leading to micro-fractures, pressurized coolant leaks, and sudden blowout failures at the seams. Furthermore, the OEM single-row core lacks the fluid capacity and surface area required to effectively dissipate heat during prolonged high-rpm loads, resulting in severe heat soak. Once the 5S-FE engine reaches these elevated temperatures, the ECU pulls ignition timing to prevent detonation, immediately robbing the engine of power and putting the head gasket at serious risk of failure.

The Engineering Solution

This performance radiator eliminates the inherent failure points of the OEM unit by utilizing a 100% TIG-welded, all-aluminum construction. By upgrading to a high-density 2-row full aluminum core, the coolant capacity is substantially increased, slowing the fluid transit time through the core for maximized thermal transfer.
