The Stock 240SX Thermal Shortcoming

This inadequate heat rejection leads to inevitable heat soak, elevated cylinder head temperatures, and a much higher risk of blown head gaskets on the KA24 powerplant.

The Engineering Solution

This all-aluminum upgrade eliminates the inherent failure points of the stock unit by replacing the plastic end tanks with TIG-welded aluminum counterparts, ensuring leak-free structural integrity under high coolant system pressures. The core is expanded to a dual-row configuration, drastically increasing both fluid capacity and the overall fin surface area exposed to ambient airflow. This larger 25.5-inch by 15-inch core maximizes heat transfer efficiency, lowering absolute coolant temperatures and accelerating thermal recovery times. With standard 1.37-inch inlet and outlet diameters, it maintains direct drop-in fitment with OEM or aftermarket silicone hoses, providing a robust cooling foundation for both naturally aspirated and forced-induction setups.
