Over time, thermal cycling causes these plastic tanks to become brittle, eventually cracking along the crimped seams or failing at the upper and lower inlet necks. Furthermore, the OEM unit lacks the fluid capacity and surface area required to dissipate heat effectively when the D-Series or B-Series engine is subjected to extended high RPMs, forced induction, or aggressive track use. This inadequate thermal management rapidly leads to severe heat soak, elevated coolant temperatures, and potential head gasket failure.

The Engineering Solution

Upgrading to a 3-row, all-aluminum construction completely resolves the inherent weaknesses of the factory setup. By utilizing a 1.65-inch thick core, this radiator significantly increases total coolant capacity and maximizes fin density for optimal thermal transfer. The TIG-welded aluminum end tanks eliminate the failure-prone plastic crimps, ensuring maximum structural integrity under high pressure and intense thermal loads. The 13.78" x 14.03" core dimensions allow for a drop-in installation while providing vastly superior airflow dynamics. This keeps your powertrain within the optimal temperature window even under heavy load. A new high-pressure radiator cap is also included to safely raise the boiling point of the cooling system.
