Heavy-Duty All-Aluminum Performance Radiator for 2004-2012 GMC Canyon
Direct Bolt-On Cooling Upgrade: Replaces failure-prone OEM plastic-tank radiators with a high-efficiency 2-row all-aluminum downflow core engineered to maximize thermal heat transfer and fluid cooling under heavy towing and high-load demands.
The Stock Canyon Radiator Vulnerability
Factory GMT355 radiators are engineered with crimped composite plastic end tanks bonded to a narrow single-row core. Constant exposure to thermal cycling degrades the plastic material over time, resulting in structural micro-fractures, seam separation, and sudden coolant loss. Additionally, under heavy payload conditions or steep grade climbs, the stock core capacity quickly heat-soaks, triggering elevated engine coolant temperatures and accelerated transmission fluid breakdown.
The Engineering Solution
Constructed entirely from premium-grade aluminum with precision TIG-welded tanks, this performance radiator eliminates vulnerable plastic seams and gasket failure points. The dual-row racing tube-and-fin core measures 22.8 inches wide by 18.1 inches high, maximizing heat exchange surface area and overall coolant volume. An integrated internal transmission oil cooler maintains optimal automatic transmission fluid operating temperatures, preventing thermal breakdown and extending drivetrain life.
