The Stock C4 Cooling Shortcoming

The original factory C4 Corvette radiators suffer from a fundamental design flaw as they age: plastic end tanks bonded to single or dual-row aluminum cores. Over years of thermal cycling, the plastic becomes brittle, leading to micro-fractures and sudden catastrophic coolant pressure loss. Furthermore, the limited coolant capacity and restrictive core fin density of the OEM unit simply cannot shed heat fast enough during extended high-rpm track use or in heavy traffic, leading to dangerous engine heat soak and degraded performance from timing retard.

The Engineering Solution

This cooling upgrade eliminates structural failure points by utilizing 100% aircraft-grade AA5052 aluminum construction, featuring fully brazed 2mm thick end tanks rather than crimped plastic. The 3-row core expands the overall fluid capacity significantly and utilizes a high-density tube and fin layout. This dramatically increases the frontal surface area exposed to ambient airflow, enabling the heat to dissipate up to 45% more efficiently than stock. Incorporating a 2-3/4 inch thick core, it maximizes thermal exchange without restricting the water pump. It also features a built-in transmission cooler and utilizes the factory saddle mount system for a direct-fit installation.
