What it Does: Replaces failure-prone OEM plastic-tank units with a direct-fit, high-capacity aluminum cooling assembly engineered to handle high thermal loads on naturally aspirated and supercharged 3800 V6 platforms.

The Stock Regal Cooling Deficiency

Factory radiators in the 1997-1999 Regal utilize thin, single-row cores paired with crimped plastic end tanks. Over repeated thermal cycles, the composite tanks embrittle and fracture along the seam seals and inlet necks. On supercharged L67 applications, elevated coolant temperatures and cylinder head heat soak rapidly exceed the thermal dissipation capacity of the stock core, leading to elevated intake charge temperatures, pre-ignition knock, and transmission fluid overheating via the undersized internal cooler.

The Engineering Solution

This drop-in unit is built from aircraft-grade AA5052 aluminum, featuring precision TIG-welded tanks and a 3-row racing tube crossflow core measuring 14-7/8" H x 30-3/7" W. The increased tube surface area dramatically accelerates heat transfer while reducing coolant flow restriction. Each unit includes an internal 5/8-18UNF transmission oil cooler to safeguard the 4T65E transaxle, 1-1/3" inlet and 1-5/16" outlet ports, a billet-style radiator cap, and 100% leak testing from the factory.
