Furthermore, the thick plastic composite absorbs radiant engine bay heat, exacerbating heat soak conditions during sustained heavy loads or performance driving. This thermal saturation ultimately leads to ignition timing retard and a noticeable loss of top-end power from the AJ133 supercharged V8 engine.

The Engineering Solution

The "R performance" dual direct air intake kit mitigates these restrictions by completely replacing both factory airboxes with smooth-bore intake tubes, available in either polished aluminum or a thermal-coated black finish.
