Combined with ground electrode wear on aged spark plugs, arc gap widening increases secondary voltage requirements. This leads to weak flame kernel propagation, intermittent misfires under throttle (DTCs P0300-P0306), and unburnt fuel fouling the catalytic converters.

This ignition kit pairs six upgraded coil-on-plug assemblies with six fine-wire iridium spark plugs. The coils feature high-conductivity copper windings and heat-resistant potting resin to eliminate arc-over and internal resistance drift under sustained operating temperatures.
