The Stock C7.5 Ignition Degradation

The EA888 Gen 3 turbo engine operates under demanding cylinder pressures and high thermal loads within the tight engine bay of the C7.5 chassis. Over time, OEM coil pack epoxy insulation degrades from heat cycling, resulting in internal dielectric breakdown, micro-arcing, and intermittent primary winding resistance drift. Combined with premature electrode erosion on standard spark plugs, this causes rough cold idle, sluggish transient throttle response, high-RPM misfire codes (P0300-P0304), and unburned hydrocarbon wash into the catalytic converter.

The Engineering Solution

This replacement kit pairs four high-output coil-on-plug assemblies with four fine-wire iridium spark plugs. The ignition coils feature premium oxygen-free copper internal windings with high-temperature epoxy encapsulation to prevent voltage leak-down under heavy boost. Heavy-duty silicone boots resist thermal hardening and valve cover oil degradation.
