High-Output 350-Amp Alternator for 2007-2012 Dodge Caliber (PM)
What it Does: The 350-amp high-output alternator replaces the factory charging unit on 2007-2012 Dodge Caliber models to deliver stable, high-amperage 12V current under extreme auxiliary electrical demands without voltage drop.
The Stock Dodge Caliber Electrical Bottleneck
Factory charging systems on the PM chassis utilize standard 110A to 120A alternators engineered solely for baseline electronics. When aftermarket audio amplifiers, auxiliary lighting, or high-draw accessories are added, the stock alternator suffers from rapid heat soak and diode bridge overload. Under continuous heavy duty cycles, internal resistance climbs, leading to significant voltage drop at idle, premature battery degradation, and eventual regulator burnout.
The Engineering Solution
This 350-amp unit features precision hand-wound heavy-gauge copper stators, balanced rotors, and upgraded high-temp rectifiers with oversized diodes for superior heat dissipation. Built to withstand sustained high-rpm use and heavy idle loads on the 2.0L ECN and 2.4L ED3 engines, it installs directly into the factory bracket locations without machining. It restores stable charging rail voltages across the entire powerband while directly replacing OEM units such as 04801477AA and 04801323AD.
