High-Output 350-Amp Alternator for 2016-2018 Cadillac CTS (Alpha)
What it Does: The High Output Alternator replaces the factory charging unit on the 2016-2018 CTS 6.2L to eliminate system voltage sag and deliver reliable 350-amp electrical capacity under demanding auxiliary loads.
The Stock Cadillac CTS Charging Bottlenecks
The OEM charging system on the third-generation Alpha chassis Cadillac CTS struggles when exposed to sustained thermal loads and high-draw aftermarket upgrades. Factory alternators cannot keep up with high-flow intercooler pumps, aftermarket heat exchangers, digital monitoring equipment, or upgraded audio systems. Heat soak inside the compact engine bay degrades the factory internal diodes, causing severe voltage drops at idle and erratic sensor telemetry on the high-output LT4 supercharged platform.
The Engineering Solution
Manufactured in the USA, this heavy-duty 350-amp alternator features high-temperature copper windings and a heavy-duty avalanche diode rectifier designed to resist extreme thermal stress. The high-efficiency rotor and stator assembly generates massive amperage output across low-RPM idle and wide-open throttle conditions without excessive drag. Encased in a rugged aluminum housing, it utilizes factory mounting points and OEM serpentine belt geometry for a seamless drop-in installation that directly replaces OEM units like 84206550 and 22747894.
