This OEM "suitcase" resonator creates significant internal turbulence as exhaust gases from the two cylinder banks collide in an unoptimized chamber. This turbulence increases backpressure, which negatively impacts turbo spool-up times and traps heat near the transmission tunnel. Furthermore, the stock unit mutes the high-frequency mechanical notes of the Ferrari-derived F160 engine, resulting in a vacuum-like exhaust note that doesn't match the vehicle's performance pedigree.

The Engineering Solution

This custom-fabricated X-pipe is engineered from high-grade T304 Polished Stainless Steel to ensure long-term corrosion resistance and structural integrity under high thermal loads. By utilizing a synchronized crossover point, the X-pipe promotes exhaust gas scavenging; as a pressure pulse passes through the X-junction, it creates a vacuum that helps pull the exhaust gases from the opposing bank. This mechanical advantage improves cylinder evacuation and allows the twin-turbochargers to operate with less resistance.
